  • Andrew Dyson

    Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

    Andrew Dyson

    Andrew Dyson is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of QMA. He joined from Affiliated Managers Group, Inc., where he was an Executive Vice President responsible for managing the company’s central global distribution platform. Earlier, Andrew served as Head of BlackRock’s Global Institutional Client Business, following the merger of BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors. In prior roles at BlackRock and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, he held senior distribution positions, including Head of the International Institutional Business, and, before that, Head of the Institutional Business for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.


    Previously, Andrew was Head of US Multinational Investment Consulting for William M. Mercer, and also served as Head of UK Pension Fund Investment Consulting for the firm. He earned a Masters degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University. Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

    Chief Investment Officer

    Roy D. Henriksson

    Roy D. Henriksson, PhD, is the Chief Investment Officer of QMA. He has over twenty years of experience combining quantitative research with its practical applications in investment portfolios. Prior to joining QMA, Roy was CIO of Advanced Portfolio Management, where he designed and managed customized, risk-targeted investment portfolios for institutional clients globally. He is also currently the Co-Chairman of the Liquidity Risk Committee and Member of the Advisory Board of the International Association for Quantitative Finance (the IAQF). Previously, Roy held a variety of senior positions in research, trading and product development at a number of large investment banks. His broad product experience spans equity, fixed income, hedge funds, currency, and commodity derivatives.


    Roy has published numerous articles on market-timing skill, portfolio optimization and asset allocation in leading journals. A recipient of the Graham and Dodd Award from The Financial Analysts Journal, he has held the position of Professor of Finance at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also served as Senior Consultant to Wells Fargo Investment Advisors and as an Advisor to the University of California Endowment. Roy holds a BS in Economics, a MS in Management, and a PhD in Finance, all from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

    Margaret S. Stumpp

    Margaret S. Stumpp, PhD, is a Senior Advisor to QMA. She is extensively involved in quantitative research in asset allocation, security selection and portfolio construction. Maggie previously served as QMA’s Chief Investment Officer for over two decades. Maggie has published articles on finance and economics in numerous publications, including The Financial Analysts Journal, The Journal of Portfolio Management, The Journal of Investment Management and Award Papers in Public Utility Economics. Maggie earned a BA cum laude with distinction in Economics from Boston University and holds an AM and PhD in Economics from Brown University.

    Edmund Bellord

    Edmund Bellord is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager and Strategist for QMA, working with the Global Portfolio Solutions team. His responsibilities include multi-asset research and development for client-led dynamic asset allocation strategies. Previously Edmund was a senior member of the Asset Allocation team at GMO. Prior to joining GMO in 2008, he was a Portfolio Manager at State Street Global Advisors Capital Management. Earlier he worked at Mellon Capital Management as a Strategist and Quantitative Researcher for Global Tactical Asset Allocation strategies. Edmund earned his MA in Economics from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and his MBA at the University of California in Berkeley.

    Edward L. Campbell

    Edward L. Campbell, CFA, is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for QMA, working with the Dynamic Asset Allocation team. In addition to portfolio management, Ed is a specialist in global macroeconomic and investment strategy research. He has served as a Portfolio Manager with PGIM Investments, and spent several years as a Senior Analyst with their Strategic Investment Research Group (SIRG). Prior to joining PGIM Investments, Ed was a Partner and Vice President at Trilogy Advisors LLC. He earned a BS in Economics and International Business from The City University of New York and an MBA in Finance, Global Business, and Organizational Leadership from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

    Stephen Courtney

    Stephen Courtney is a Managing Director for QMA, as well as Co-Head of Research and Portfolio Management for Value Equity. His responsibilities include portfolio management, analysis, and research. Prior to joining QMA, Stephen was a Director at ClearBridge Investments and its predecessor organizations, where he served as a research analyst and portfolio manager for 26 years. He earned a BA in Political Science from Boston College. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts.

    Richard L. Crist

    Richard L. Crist is a Managing Director and Head of Global Trading for QMA, where he is responsible for a team of traders and all aspects of trading in US and International markets for institutional strategies. The team currently transacts in equities, futures, currencies, ETFs and fixed-income products. Earlier in his career, Rich held various roles in portfolio management, compliance and accounting within the Prudential organization. Rich earned a BS in Accounting from Montclair State University.

    Edward F. Keon, Jr.

    Edward F. Keon, Jr. is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for QMA, working with the Dynamic Asset Allocation team. He leads a team of portfolio managers who manage a diverse mix of dynamic asset allocation funds encompassing US, International, and Emerging Markets stocks and bonds, as well as real estate, commodities, volatility, and other asset classes. Ed has also served as Chief Investment Strategist and Director of Quantitative Research at Prudential Equity Group, LLC, and he was a Senior Vice President at I/B/E/S International Inc. Ed is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance, where he heads the committee to develop Sound Practices in Quantitative Investment Management. Ed appears regularly on CNBC's Squawk Box as well as other media outlets. He graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Industrial Management from the University of Massachusetts/Lowell and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

    Joshua Livnat

    Joshua Livnat, PhD, is a Managing Director for QMA, where he focuses on global accounting research. Previously, he was a Professor of Accounting at NYU’s Leonard Stern School of Business. His primary research areas have included capital markets, the effects of various accounting disclosure on stock prices, market anomalies and valuation issues. Joshua co-authored the book “Cash Flow and Security Analysis.” He has also been published in many journals, including Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting & Economics, The Accounting Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Portfolio Management, and Financial Analysts Journal. Joshua has taught at Vanderbilt University, University of California at Berkeley, Northwestern University and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He earned a BS in Mathematics and Statistics from Hebrew University and a PhD in Accounting from New York University.

    Ted Lockwood

    Ted Lockwood is a Managing Director for QMA and Head of the Dynamic Asset Allocation team. He is responsible for portfolio management, investment research, and new product development. QMA’s Dynamic Asset Allocation team focuses on tactical, strategic, and dynamic asset allocation across traditional and non-traditional asset classes, including real assets and alternatives. Ted’s experience also includes managing tactical asset allocation overlays, dynamically managed volatility strategies, quantitative long-short equity portfolios, and synthetic convertible bonds. Earlier in his career, Ted was an AT&T Bell Laboratories Fellow and member of the technical staff at AT&T. Ted graduated summa cum laude with a BE in Engineering from Stony Brook University and earned an MS in Engineering and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University.

    Rodolfo Martell

    Rodolfo Martell, PhD, is a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and Strategist for QMA, working with the Non-US Core Equity team. His responsibilities include portfolio management, analysis, and research. Prior to joining QMA, Rodolfo was at BlackRock where he was a senior member of the Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets Equity group within BlackRock's Scientific Active Equity team and its predecessor firm BGI. He served as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Investment Strategist for Asia and Emerging Markets quantitative strategies, emerging markets long/short equity portfolios, and SRI (Socially Responsible Investing) and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiatives. Earlier, Rodolfo was an Assistant Professor of Finance at Purdue University. He earned a BA in Economics from Universidad de las Americas-Puebla, and a PhD in Finance from The Ohio State University.

    Stacie L. Mintz

    Stacie L. Mintz, CFA, is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for QMA. Stacie is responsible for managing US equity portfolios, including US Core, Long Short, and Market Neutral strategies, and overseeing the team responsible for implementation. Previously, Stacie was a member of the Dynamic Asset Allocation team, where she was responsible for several retail and institutional portfolios. In addition, during that time, she was responsible for managing the overall asset allocation for the Prudential Pension Plan. She earned a BA in Economics from Rutgers University, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

    John W. Moschberger

    John W. Moschberger, CFA, is a Managing Director and Head of Indexing for QMA. John manages both retail and institutional account portfolios benchmarked against the numerous domestic and international indices. He is also responsible for trading foreign and domestic equities, foreign exchange and derivative instruments. John previously worked as a Research Analyst with Prudential Equity Management Associates. John earned a BS in Finance from the University of Delaware, an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

    George N. Patterson

    George N. Patterson, PhD, is a Managing Director and Co-Head of QMA’s Quantitative Equity Platform. Prior to joining QMA, George was Managing Director, Corporate Strategy, at Axioma, Inc., focusing on identifying buy-side trends and market opportunities to foster growth at the company. He was previously Chief Investment Officer for Quantitative Investments at Bank of Montreal Global Asset Management, with responsibilities across global equities and multi-asset strategies spanning stand-alone asset allocation funds, FX overlays, retail fund of funds, and ETF-based multi-asset solutions. Prior to that, George was Co-Founder and a Managing Partner at Menta Capital LLC, a California-based quantitative equity hedge fund, and a Senior Portfolio Manager in equity market neutral strategies at Barclays Global Investors. He began his career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. George earned a BS in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Physics from Boston University.

    Jacob Pozharny

    Jacob Pozharny, PhD, is a Managing Director for QMA, as well as Head of Research and Portfolio Management for Non-US Core Equity. Jacob was previously a Managing Director and Head of International Quantitative Equity at the TIAA-CREF organization and Teachers Advisors, Inc., where he was responsible for quantitative stock selection and portfolio construction for international portfolios. Earlier in his career, Jacob held positions at the University of California, Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management and the Federal Reserve. He earned a BA in Economics, an MS in Statistics, an MS in Finance and Applied Economics, and a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of California.

    George Sakoulis

    George Sakoulis, PhD, is a Managing Director and Head of Global Portfolio Solutions for QMA, where he focuses on quantitative global macro equity research. Previously, he led quantitative research for the Emerging Markets Equity team at GMO. Prior to that, George served as the Director of European Equity Strategies for Numeric Investors and was a Director for UBS O’Connor. George earned a BA in Economics and a BS in Statistics from San Francisco State University, and an MA in Economics and a PhD in Financial Econometrics from the University of Washington.

    Mitchell Stern

    Mitchell Stern, PhD, is a Managing Director for QMA, as well as Co-Head of Research and Portfolio Management for Value Equity. His responsibilities include portfolio management, analysis, and research. Mitch’s experience at QMA has included leading value research, and managing large-cap, small-cap, long-short, and derivative portfolios. Previously, he was the Lead Researcher for Dreman Value Management. Earlier in his career, Mitch was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Tennessee and Fairfield University. Mitch earned a BA cum laude in Economics from Brandeis University and an MA and a PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia.

    Martin Tarlie

    Martin Tarlie, PhD, CFA, is a Managing Director and Senior Researcher for QMA, working with the Global Portfolio Solutions team. His responsibilities include research for quantitative equity and dynamic asset allocation strategies. Previously Martin worked at GMO in a variety of research and portfolio management roles. Prior to GMO, Martin worked as a Quantitative Analyst for Breakwater Trading and as a Fundamental Equity Analyst at Marlin Capital Corp. as the Director of Research. Martin earned his BS in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan, his MS and PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at the James Franck Institute at the University of Chicago.

    Peter Xu

    Peter Xu, PhD, is a Managing Director and Co-Head of QMA’s Quantitative Equity Platform with responsibility for research on higher alpha and alternative strategies. For over 20 years, Peter has played a critical role in the evolution of QMA's quantitative models and investment process that have delivered strong performance across all of our equity strategies. He has published articles in a number of journals, including The Financial Analysts Journal, The Journal of Portfolio Management, The Journal of Asset Management, The Journal of Investing, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and others. Peter earned a BS in Nuclear Physics from Fudan University in Shanghai, an MA in Economics from Rice University, and a PhD in Finance from the University of Houston.

    Global Distribution

    Adam Broder

    Adam Broder is a Managing Director and Head of QMA’s Global Distribution, responsible for all client and business development activity globally, including sales and client service, marketing, consultant relations and product development. Prior to joining QMA, Adam spent two years as a Consultant and Strategic Advisor, partnering with financial technology firms, hedge funds, and other asset managers to expand sales and marketing efforts, and to build distribution capabilities in the US and abroad. He was previously a Managing Director at Och-Ziff Capital Management, responsible for expanding the global sales and marketing business and helping to build a long-term growth strategy for the firm. Prior to that, he served as a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in London, where he led the operational day-to-day business and oversaw the strategic expansion of the third-party distribution and sub-advisory businesses. Adam previously worked in Mumbai as a Managing Director and CEO for GSAM India, and in Hong Kong as a Director of Business Development for Goldman’s Investment Management Division in Asia. Adam earned a BS from Cornell and an MBA from Columbia University.

    Brad Allinson

    Brad Allinson is a Managing Director and Head of Institutional Client Relations and Business Development for QMA. Prior to joining QMA, he worked as a Principal, directing client relations and business development at State Street Global Advisors. Earlier, he spent nine years at Fidelity Investments, where he was a Senior Vice President responsible for institutional sales and relationship management in the US. He began his career with PaineWebber Properties as an Analyst in 1989. Brad holds a BS in Political Science from Arizona State University.

    Kathleen Barabas

    Kathleen M. Barabas is a Principal and Head of Client Services for QMA. Kathy was previously Head of Client Service at J.P. Morgan Asset Management North America, overseeing a team of client service professionals and product specialists responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation and delivery of products and services to its US and Canadian institutional client base. Previously, she worked at Citibank in a variety of roles within the Employee Benefit Services, and Master Trust and Custody divisions. Kathy earned a BS in Business Administration from Caldwell University.

    Bill Parker

    Bill Parker is a Managing Director and Head of Global Consultant Relations for QMA. Prior to joining QMA, he was a Partner at Lord Abbett responsible for institutional client and consultant relations and business development. Previously at Lord Abbett, Bill was Director of Client Portfolio Management and Senior Director of Due Diligence. Before that, he was a Vice President of Consultant Relations at Deutsche Asset Management, Consultant Relations Officer at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., Senior Analyst at New England Pension Consultants, and an Analyst at Electric Mutual, a subsidiary of GE. Bill earned a BA from Westminster College and an MBA from Salem State College. He also holds a Certificate in Advanced Management (CAM) from Babson College.

    Human Resources

    Susan Conlon

    Susan Conlon is a Managing Director and Head of Human Resources for QMA. Susan is responsible for developing human capital initiatives in alignment with the business' objectives. Prior to joining QMA, Susan was Head of Human Resources for Credit Suisse Alternative Investments in New York, and spent two years in London as the Head of HR for the Finance and Operations businesses. Previously, she spent 10 years at Citigroup where she held a number of positions, most recently as the Global Head of HR for their Alternative Investments business and Head of Asset Management Americas. Susan earned a MS in Organizational Development from Fordham University and is a cum laude graduate of PACE University with a BS in Business Management.

  • Larry Marchese

    Chief Technology and Operations Officer

    Larry Marchese

    Larry Marchese is a Managing Director and Chief Technology and Operations Officer for QMA. Larry oversees Technology, Operations, Client Reporting, Performance Measurement, Market Data and Production Quantitative Programming. Since joining QMA, Larry has been responsible for the architectural design and implementation of the automated systems that underlie key business functions across QMA. He has also been responsible for optimizing workflows across the firm to increase efficiency, accuracy, and straight-through processing. Prior to joining QMA, Larry served as Head of Applications at Jennison Associates. Previously, Larry headed the Global Technology group for Chase Asset Management, and subsequently became Chief Technology Officer for J.P. Morgan Funds. Larry earned a BA in Mathematics from Hunter College of the City University of New York.

    Chief Financial Officer

    Robert Roth

    Robert Roth is a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for QMA. He partners with the business on strategic financial initiatives, and is responsible for all aspects of finance, including financial planning and analysis, and accounting and reporting for QMA. Prior to joining QMA, Rob was a Vice President of Planning and Analysis for Prudential’s US and International businesses. In this role, he oversaw the consolidated financial planning and analysis function for the US and International businesses, and provided financial support for strategic initiatives impacting them. Rob has held a number of finance roles supporting a variety of Prudential businesses including Individual Life Insurance and Group Insurance. Rob earned a BA in Finance and a MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.

    Chief Operating Officer

    Shelley Wong

    Shelley Wong is a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of QMA. She oversees Finance, Operational Risk, and Project Management, and works with senior leadership to ensure the continued achievement of QMA’s strategic objectives. Prior to joining QMA, Shelley was the Global Chief Financial Officer of the Investment Banking Department (IBD) at Credit Suisse and was a member of IBD’s Global Management Committee and Operating Committee. Previously, she served as Chief Operating Officer in a variety of groups in banking, including Global Financial Institutions, Media and Telecom, and Health Care. Prior to Credit Suisse, Shelley was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where she executed corporate equity and debt financings and advisory transactions. Shelley began her career in finance at The Toronto-Dominion Bank in commercial banking in Canada. Shelley earned an MBA at Columbia Business School and a B. Commerce Hons with distinction from Queen’s University, Canada. She holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.

    Edward L. Campbell, CFA, is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for QMA, working with the Dynamic Asset Allocation team. In addition to portfolio management, Ed is a specialist in global macroeconomic and investment strategy research. He has served as a Portfolio Manager with PGIM Investments, and spent several years as a Senior Analyst with their Strategic Investment Research Group (SIRG). Prior to joining PGIM Investments, Ed was a Partner and Vice President at Trilogy Advisors LLC. He earned a BS in Economics and International Business from The City University of New York and an MBA in Finance, Global Business, and Organizational Leadership from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

    Stephen Courtney

    Stephen Courtney is a Managing Director for QMA, as well as Co-Head of Research and Portfolio Management for Value Equity. His responsibilities include portfolio management, analysis, and research. Prior to joining QMA, Stephen was a Director at ClearBridge Investments and its predecessor organizations, where he served as a research analyst and portfolio manager for 26 years. He earned a BA in Political Science from Boston College. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts.

    Richard L. Crist

    Richard L. Crist is a Managing Director and Head of Global Trading for QMA, where he is responsible for a team of traders and all aspects of trading in US and International markets for institutional strategies. The team currently transacts in equities, futures, currencies, ETFs and fixed-income products. Earlier in his career, Rich held various roles in portfolio management, compliance and accounting within the Prudential organization. Rich earned a BS in Accounting from Montclair State University.

    Edward F. Keon, Jr.

    Edward F. Keon, Jr. is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for QMA, working with the Dynamic Asset Allocation team. He leads a team of portfolio managers who manage a diverse mix of dynamic asset allocation funds encompassing US, International, and Emerging Markets stocks and bonds, as well as real estate, commodities, volatility, and other asset classes. Ed has also served as Chief Investment Strategist and Director of Quantitative Research at Prudential Equity Group, LLC, and he was a Senior Vice President at I/B/E/S International Inc. Ed is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance, where he heads the committee to develop Sound Practices in Quantitative Investment Management. Ed appears regularly on CNBC's Squawk Box as well as other media outlets. He graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Industrial Management from the University of Massachusetts/Lowell and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

    Joshua Livnat

    Joshua Livnat, PhD, is a Managing Director for QMA, where he focuses on global accounting research. Previously, he was a Professor of Accounting at NYU’s Leonard Stern School of Business. His primary research areas have included capital markets, the effects of various accounting disclosure on stock prices, market anomalies and valuation issues. Joshua co-authored the book “Cash Flow and Security Analysis.” He has also been published in many journals, including Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting & Economics, The Accounting Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Portfolio Management, and Financial Analysts Journal. Joshua has taught at Vanderbilt University, University of California at Berkeley, Northwestern University and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He earned a BS in Mathematics and Statistics from Hebrew University and a PhD in Accounting from New York University.

    Ted Lockwood

    Ted Lockwood is a Managing Director for QMA and Head of the Dynamic Asset Allocation team. He is responsible for portfolio management, investment research, and new product development. QMA’s Dynamic Asset Allocation team focuses on tactical, strategic, and dynamic asset allocation across traditional and non-traditional asset classes, including real assets and alternatives. Ted’s experience also includes managing tactical asset allocation overlays, dynamically managed volatility strategies, quantitative long-short equity portfolios, and synthetic convertible bonds. Earlier in his career, Ted was an AT&T Bell Laboratories Fellow and member of the technical staff at AT&T. Ted graduated summa cum laude with a BE in Engineering from Stony Brook University and earned an MS in Engineering and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University.

    Rodolfo Martell

    Rodolfo Martell, PhD, is a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and Strategist for QMA, working with the Non-US Core Equity team. His responsibilities include portfolio management, analysis, and research. Prior to joining QMA, Rodolfo was at BlackRock where he was a senior member of the Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets Equity group within BlackRock's Scientific Active Equity team and its predecessor firm BGI. He served as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Investment Strategist for Asia and Emerging Markets quantitative strategies, emerging markets long/short equity portfolios, and SRI (Socially Responsible Investing) and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiatives. Earlier, Rodolfo was an Assistant Professor of Finance at Purdue University. He earned a BA in Economics from Universidad de las Americas-Puebla, and a PhD in Finance from The Ohio State University.

    Stacie L. Mintz

    Stacie L. Mintz, CFA, is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for QMA. Stacie is responsible for managing US equity portfolios, including US Core, Long Short, and Market Neutral strategies, and overseeing the team responsible for implementation. Previously, Stacie was a member of the Dynamic Asset Allocation team, where she was responsible for several retail and institutional portfolios. In addition, during that time, she was responsible for managing the overall asset allocation for the Prudential Pension Plan. She earned a BA in Economics from Rutgers University, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

    John W. Moschberger, CFA, is a Managing Director and Head of Indexing for QMA. John manages both retail and institutional account portfolios benchmarked against the numerous domestic and international indices. He is also responsible for trading foreign and domestic equities, foreign exchange and derivative instruments. John previously worked as a Research Analyst with Prudential Equity Management Associates. John earned a BS in Finance from the University of Delaware, an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

    George N. Patterson

    George N. Patterson, PhD, is a Managing Director and Co-Head of QMA’s Quantitative Equity Platform. Prior to joining QMA, George was Managing Director, Corporate Strategy, at Axioma, Inc., focusing on identifying buy-side trends and market opportunities to foster growth at the company. He was previously Chief Investment Officer for Quantitative Investments at Bank of Montreal Global Asset Management, with responsibilities across global equities and multi-asset strategies spanning stand-alone asset allocation funds, FX overlays, retail fund of funds, and ETF-based multi-asset solutions. Prior to that, George was Co-Founder and a Managing Partner at Menta Capital LLC, a California-based quantitative equity hedge fund, and a Senior Portfolio Manager in equity market neutral strategies at Barclays Global Investors. He began his career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. George earned a BS in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Physics from Boston University.

    Jacob Pozharny, PhD, is a Managing Director for QMA, as well as Head of Research and Portfolio Management for Non-US Core Equity. Jacob was previously a Managing Director and Head of International Quantitative Equity at the TIAA-CREF organization and Teachers Advisors, Inc., where he was responsible for quantitative stock selection and portfolio construction for international portfolios. Earlier in his career, Jacob held positions at the University of California, Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management and the Federal Reserve. He earned a BA in Economics, an MS in Statistics, an MS in Finance and Applied Economics, and a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of California.

    George Sakoulis, PhD, is a Managing Director and Head of Global Portfolio Solutions for QMA, where he focuses on quantitative global macro equity research. Previously, he led quantitative research for the Emerging Markets Equity team at GMO. Prior to that, George served as the Director of European Equity Strategies for Numeric Investors and was a Director for UBS O’Connor. George earned a BA in Economics and a BS in Statistics from San Francisco State University, and an MA in Economics and a PhD in Financial Econometrics from the University of Washington.

    Mitchell Stern

    Mitchell Stern, PhD, is a Managing Director for QMA, as well as Co-Head of Research and Portfolio Management for Value Equity. His responsibilities include portfolio management, analysis, and research. Mitch’s experience at QMA has included leading value research, and managing large-cap, small-cap, long-short, and derivative portfolios. Previously, he was the Lead Researcher for Dreman Value Management. Earlier in his career, Mitch was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Tennessee and Fairfield University. Mitch earned a BA cum laude in Economics from Brandeis University and an MA and a PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia.

    Martin Tarlie

    Martin Tarlie, PhD, CFA, is a Managing Director and Senior Researcher for QMA, working with the Global Portfolio Solutions team. His responsibilities include research for quantitative equity and dynamic asset allocation strategies. Previously Martin worked at GMO in a variety of research and portfolio management roles. Prior to GMO, Martin worked as a Quantitative Analyst for Breakwater Trading and as a Fundamental Equity Analyst at Marlin Capital Corp. as the Director of Research. Martin earned his BS in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan, his MS and PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at the James Franck Institute at the University of Chicago.

    Peter Xu

    Peter Xu, PhD, is a Managing Director and Co-Head of QMA’s Quantitative Equity Platform with responsibility for research on higher alpha and alternative strategies. For over 20 years, Peter has played a critical role in the evolution of QMA's quantitative models and investment process that have delivered strong performance across all of our equity strategies. He has published articles in a number of journals, including The Financial Analysts Journal, The Journal of Portfolio Management, The Journal of Asset Management, The Journal of Investing, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and others. Peter earned a BS in Nuclear Physics from Fudan University in Shanghai, an MA in Economics from Rice University, and a PhD in Finance from the University of Houston.

    Adam Broder

    Adam Broder is a Managing Director and Head of QMA’s Global Distribution, responsible for all client and business development activity globally, including sales and client service, marketing, consultant relations and product development. Prior to joining QMA, Adam spent two years as a Consultant and Strategic Advisor, partnering with financial technology firms, hedge funds, and other asset managers to expand sales and marketing efforts, and to build distribution capabilities in the US and abroad. He was previously a Managing Director at Och-Ziff Capital Management, responsible for expanding the global sales and marketing business and helping to build a long-term growth strategy for the firm. Prior to that, he served as a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in London, where he led the operational day-to-day business and oversaw the strategic expansion of the third-party distribution and sub-advisory businesses. Adam previously worked in Mumbai as a Managing Director and CEO for GSAM India, and in Hong Kong as a Director of Business Development for Goldman’s Investment Management Division in Asia. Adam earned a BS from Cornell and an MBA from Columbia University.

    Brad Allinson is a Managing Director and Head of Institutional Client Relations and Business Development for QMA. Prior to joining QMA, he worked as a Principal, directing client relations and business development at State Street Global Advisors. Earlier, he spent nine years at Fidelity Investments, where he was a Senior Vice President responsible for institutional sales and relationship management in the US. He began his career with PaineWebber Properties as an Analyst in 1989. Brad holds a BS in Political Science from Arizona State University.

    Kathleen Barabas

    Kathleen M. Barabas is a Principal and Head of Client Services for QMA. Kathy was previously Head of Client Service at J.P. Morgan Asset Management North America, overseeing a team of client service professionals and product specialists responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation and delivery of products and services to its US and Canadian institutional client base. Previously, she worked at Citibank in a variety of roles within the Employee Benefit Services, and Master Trust and Custody divisions. Kathy earned a BS in Business Administration from Caldwell University.

    Bill Parker

    Bill Parker is a Managing Director and Head of Global Consultant Relations for QMA. Prior to joining QMA, he was a Partner at Lord Abbett responsible for institutional client and consultant relations and business development. Previously at Lord Abbett, Bill was Director of Client Portfolio Management and Senior Director of Due Diligence. Before that, he was a Vice President of Consultant Relations at Deutsche Asset Management, Consultant Relations Officer at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., Senior Analyst at New England Pension Consultants, and an Analyst at Electric Mutual, a subsidiary of GE. Bill earned a BA from Westminster College and an MBA from Salem State College. He also holds a Certificate in Advanced Management (CAM) from Babson College.

    Susan Conlon

    Susan Conlon is a Managing Director and Head of Human Resources for QMA. Susan is responsible for developing human capital initiatives in alignment with the business' objectives. Prior to joining QMA, Susan was Head of Human Resources for Credit Suisse Alternative Investments in New York, and spent two years in London as the Head of HR for the Finance and Operations businesses. Previously, she spent 10 years at Citigroup where she held a number of positions, most recently as the Global Head of HR for their Alternative Investments business and Head of Asset Management Americas. Susan earned a MS in Organizational Development from Fordham University and is a cum laude graduate of PACE University with a BS in Business Management.

    Larry Marchese

    Larry Marchese is a Managing Director and Chief Technology and Operations Officer for QMA. Larry oversees Technology, Operations, Client Reporting, Performance Measurement, Market Data and Production Quantitative Programming. Since joining QMA, Larry has been responsible for the architectural design and implementation of the automated systems that underlie key business functions across QMA. He has also been responsible for optimizing workflows across the firm to increase efficiency, accuracy, and straight-through processing. Prior to joining QMA, Larry served as Head of Applications at Jennison Associates. Previously, Larry headed the Global Technology group for Chase Asset Management, and subsequently became Chief Technology Officer for J.P. Morgan Funds. Larry earned a BA in Mathematics from Hunter College of the City University of New York.

    Robert Roth

    Robert Roth is a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for QMA. He partners with the business on strategic financial initiatives, and is responsible for all aspects of finance, including financial planning and analysis, and accounting and reporting for QMA. Prior to joining QMA, Rob was a Vice President of Planning and Analysis for Prudential’s US and International businesses. In this role, he oversaw the consolidated financial planning and analysis function for the US and International businesses, and provided financial support for strategic initiatives impacting them. Rob has held a number of finance roles supporting a variety of Prudential businesses including Individual Life Insurance and Group Insurance. Rob earned a BA in Finance and a MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.

    Shelley Wong

    Shelley Wong is a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of QMA. She oversees Finance, Operational Risk, and Project Management, and works with senior leadership to ensure the continued achievement of QMA’s strategic objectives. Prior to joining QMA, Shelley was the Global Chief Financial Officer of the Investment Banking Department (IBD) at Credit Suisse and was a member of IBD’s Global Management Committee and Operating Committee. Previously, she served as Chief Operating Officer in a variety of groups in banking, including Global Financial Institutions, Media and Telecom, and Health Care. Prior to Credit Suisse, Shelley was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where she executed corporate equity and debt financings and advisory transactions. Shelley began her career in finance at The Toronto-Dominion Bank in commercial banking in Canada. Shelley earned an MBA at Columbia Business School and a B. Commerce Hons with distinction from Queen’s University, Canada. She holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
